Description
REACH Medical Holdings seeks a skilled Helicopter Pilot for our Emergency Services team in Healthcare & Medical Services. The pilot will safely conduct emergency air medical transport missions, ensuring rapid response for critically ill and injured patients. Responsibilities include preflight planning, safe operation of helicopters in varied weather and terrain, coordination with medical crews, and strict adherence to FAA and company safety standards. REACH Air offers a supportive, safety-first, high-performance culture focused on quality patient care and crew safety.Perform safe and efficient helicopter operations for emergency medical transport missions
Conduct thorough preflight, inflight, and postflight checks and documentation
Plan and execute flights in compliance with FAA, Part 135, and company regulations
Coordinate closely with flight nurses, paramedics, and communication centers during missions
Assess weather, terrain, and risk factors; make go/no-go decisions prioritizing safety
Operate day, night, and IFR flights as required for emergency responses
Maintain aircraft cleanliness, readiness, and accurate flight/maintenance logs
Participate in safety briefings, training, and continuous improvement initiatives
Communicate effectively with hospitals, dispatch, and ground agencies
Support and model REACH Air’s safety-first, team-focused culture
Helicopter flight operations (VFR/IFR)
Emergency Medical Services (air ambulance) flight procedures
FAA Part 135 and air medical regulatory compliance
Advanced aeronautical decision-making and risk management
IFR navigation and instrument approach procedures
Crew Resource Management (CRM) and team communication
Weather analysis and flight planning
Night and terrain/challenging environment operations
Use of avionics, GPS, and flight management systems
Radio communications with ATC, hospitals, and ground units

Commercial Rotorcraft-Helicopter Pilot Certificate (FAA)
Instrument Rating – Helicopter
Current Class II (or Class I) FAA Medical Certificate
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Night and IFR flight proficiency
Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) operational experience preferred
Crew Resource Management (CRM) training
Air ambulance/EMS regulatory compliance knowledge (Part 135)
Mountain/night/IFR flight experience preferred
Flight safety and risk management training
