Location: Wixom, MI, 48393

Moeller Aerospace is a manufacturing facility specializing in precision-machined parts for the gas turbine aircraft engine and power generation industries. Our headquarters is in Wixom, Michigan and we have multiple openings for experienced CNC Lathe machinists on our second shift (4:30 PM - 1:00AM/3:00 AM). Minimum of 3 years of experience preferred in a precision machining environment operating advanced CNC equipment.
Essential Duties:
- Operate CNC Machines as necessary to produce the required number of conforming parts in a timely manner according to process documentation. This will include operating multiple pieces of CNC equipment simultaneously.
- The ability to correctly setup jobs in assigned equipment in a timely manner is a plus, but not required.
- Perform 1st piece, in-process and last piece inspection using micrometers, calipers, comparators, various gauges and CMM equipment according to process documentation.
- Perform data collection and communication tasks as directed in our eOVL.
- Perform operator maintenance (TPM).
- Diagnose and correct equipment or tool issues.
- Perform deburr or rework of work in-process.
- Make recommendations to optimize and improve assigned processes.
- Maintain work station to 5S standards.
- Perform all work according to Company safety standards.
- Comply with all Quality/Company policies and procedures.
- Solid track record of employment success. Successful work experience operating CNC-controlled equipment to produce precision-machined metal parts, and setup experience is a plus.
- Firm understanding of machining center theory, including x, y and z axis.
- Ability to use common measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Significant collaboration and communication skills related to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Blueprint reading skills to GD&T standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional trade school training preferred, but not required.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to perform basic shop math functions.
- Eligibility to work with sensitive controlled data and materials according to customer policies and practices.
We are seeking team players with a focus on continuous improvement opportunities. Experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems, advanced quality assurance techniques, and/or aerospace work would be a definite asset. Other duties may be assigned.
