What Your Job Will Be Like

We are seeking a highly motivated Production Planning Control Specialist to become part of the New Mexico ND Futures Team. You will have the opportunity to lead a range of projects that span the lifecycle of test hardware including product definition and planning of inventory levels, data collection, and hardware management for component and full-scale system level testing.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

• Participate in the lifecycle planning for hardware required for demonstration, development, and qualification for ND Futures programs including ground and flight testing on novel system designs.
• Manage an inventory of hardware in Aras HAMS (Hardware Asset Management System), including hardware planning, provisioning, receiving, identifying discrepancies (ex: pedigree or quantity mismatches), and disposition post-test. Inventories may be dispersed across various SNL locations including MP1, KCNSC-NMO, and potentially other locations.
• Support test activities such as reporting, Material Requisition Schedules (MRS), deliverable reports, kitting components, and managing inspection reports.
• Create, disposition, and archive hardware documentation, such as hardware traveler forms, data forms, and inspection reports.
• Collaborate with other Production Planning Control Specialists in the New Mexico Stockpile Technical Basis Team.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant will be required to work onsite full-time in Albuquerque, NM. Some travel to locations including, but not limited to, Los Alamos, NM, Amarillo, TX, Livermore CA, and Kansas City, MO is required for this position.

Salary Range

$87,400 - $168,800

*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

Qualifications We Require

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and engineering or scientific experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform independent research and development.
• Active DOE Q clearance or equivalent required to start with the ability to participate as requested in random polygraph testing.

About Our Team

The Exploratory Nuclear Weapon Systems Department, 0236, is a National leader in threat-informed and anticipatory Nuclear Weapon system concept design and technology assessment. We provide leadership to the Nuclear Deterrence portfolio at Sandia in order to execute nuclear weapon concept exploration, guide necessary technology maturation, and integrate operational system prototypes for options that span the Technology Readiness Level scale. Department 0236 is a multidisciplinary engineering team with experience ranging across integrated hardware flight testing, nuclear weapon component and system design, program execution with external partners, early phase nuclear weapon program execution, beyond horizon technologies, operational experience, and strategic technology planning. We regularly interact with NNSA and our DOW partners to establish the Art of the Possible at Sandia National Laboratories.

We anticipate future Deterrence needs and mitigate technical surprise on all timescales of interest to National Security.

Security Clearance

Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD). Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
