KFUPM is one of the leading accredited international universities (ABET, AACSB) in the world. with World ranking of 160 in the year 2023 (QS Top Universities), fourth rank in the world for the number of US research patents issued (1300+), consistent top 5 ranking in the Middle East region by various international ranking agencies. KFUPM boasts an international faculty body with a student strength of about 10,000, and student to faculty ratio of about 10.
At KFUPM, the Department of Aerospace Engineering at KFUPM is aggressively expanding its portfolio by establishing multidisciplinary academic programs and recruiting aerospace and non-aerospace faculty to reflect the current trend and nature of aerospace academics, industry and research. The dept. also has several cutting-edge lab facilities encompassing all domains of aerospace academics and research.
KFUPM also has several new Interdisciplinary Research Centers (IRC) including the IRC for Aviation & Space Exploration which has a very high scope of work and seeks to be the regional hub for industry-level Aerospace R&D, and develop expertise in vital space, satellite, Earth-observation and related technologies.
