A post-doctoral position is available in the Sadok lab at the University of Minnesota (http://sadoklab.cfans.umn.edu). The aim of this position is to: i) lead an on-going effort for the development of new phenotyping tools and sensors that capture key plant physiological processes, ii) conduct various ad hoc experiments to test hypotheses rooted in plant physiology and iii) curate and analyze large datasets assembled to perform QTL mapping. The post-doctoral research associate is expected to work independently, actively collaborate with various team members, lead the preparation and publication of peer-reviewed manuscripts and present research findings to target audiences.
The qualifications are broad for this position. The position is open to candidates with a Ph.D. in Plant Physiology/Biology, Plant Ecology, Quantitative Genetics/Breeding or Functional Genomics or any related fields if they bring to the project the following skills:
Robust knowledge in plant eco-physiology or phenomics/ instrumentation.
Solid experience with statistical analysis of large datasets using R.
Experience with genetic mapping.
Evidence of scholarly publications.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
A successful candidate for this position will have demonstrated ability to work independently, high motivation, creativity and a strong drive to publish in a timely manner. Due to the availability of datasets already consolidated, it is expected that the incumbent will be involved in manuscript write-ups as soon as the position starts.
