West Chester University invites applicants for one tenuretrack position in the newly formed Biomedical Engineering (BME) program in the Department of Physics and Engineering. We are looking for individuals whose primary research interests are in Biomechanics or Bioinstrumentation. This position starts August 2020. The position is offered at the Assistant Professor level, but exceptionally well qualified candidates with significant experience can be considered for the rank of Associate Professor. Actual starting salary is commensurate with experience. The successful candidates will work from the Department of Physics and Engineering within the College of the Sciences and Mathematics.
Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. The successful candidate must be able to teach the associated courses in the BME curriculum.
Preference will be given to candidates who have potential for excellence in teaching and high quality research as documented by publications in peerreviewed journals in the biomedical engineering area. Candidates are expected to develop research and outstanding undergraduate teaching programs in their areas of specialty. This includes developing undergraduate courses, academic advising, and being actively involved in the ABET accreditation process. Candidates at the rank of Associate Professor should have a distinguished record of research and teaching activities.
Selected applicants will be invited for phone/teleconference interviews. Oncampus interviews occurring in early February 2020 will include a demonstration of teaching as well as a research presentation.
