The Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics at the University of Delaware invites applications for both a tenure-track position and a continuing-track (non-tenure) position in Operations Management. Both positions are in our expanding Operations Management area whose growth is fueled by increased interest in our innovative curriculum that includes undergraduate and graduate offerings in Business Analytics, Operations Management, and Management Science courses. Tenure-Track Position - Successful candidates will demonstrate the drive and vision to develop an innovative, cutting-edge scholarly research program and a commitment to quality teaching. Candidates who have a few years of experience in rank as an Assistant Professor are also encouraged to apply; such candidates will have a demonstrated record of publication in top academic journals and evidence of highly effective teaching. Teaching load is typically a maximum of four courses per year with reduced teaching loads given to new faculty to support their research program.
Continuing-Track (non-tenure) Position - Successful candidates will demonstrate the drive and vision to develop an innovative, cutting-edge instructional program and a commitment to scholarly research. This is a permanent line renewable with increasing contract renewal lengths (starting at 2 years and moving up to 5 year renewals). There is no promotion requirement with this position though there are promotion opportunities. Teaching load is typically a maximum of six courses per year with potential reductions for research productivity.
Candidates must possess a PhD in operations management or a related field or be ABD with completion expected in the near future. In addition, candidates should be well-qualified to design and teach courses in one or more of the three categories of course offerings, i.e. Business Analytics, Operations Management, and Management Science. Interest in data visualization, probabilistic programming, optimization, supply chain management, statistical computing, and/or collaboration with industry is also valued.
