The City of Concord, NH Engineering Services Division is seeking an experienced and energetic Transportation/Traffic Engineer to help lead the City's multi-modal transportation planning, design and construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Capital City's innovative team of municipal engineers and planners furthering the implementation of the State's first Complete Streets Policy and its first Bike Friendly Community designation. Reporting directly to the City Engineer, this position assists the Community Development Department in the management of Concord's transportation Capital Improvement Projects and the Transportation Master Plan where state-of-the-art engineering solutions challenge our efforts. The position performs a variety of professional engineering and managerial work involving administrative and technical tasks to assist the City Engineer in coordinating and implementing the traffic and transportation activities of the Engineering Services Division. Responsibilities include supervising and administering the City's traffic and transportation program projects and activities including the initiation, planning, organizing, design, construction and funding applications of major traffic and transportation capital projects as well as supervising the transportation related technical review of proposed development plan designs and concepts for traffic impacts, compliance with street standards, adherence to codes, consistency with major street plans, multi-modal access, neighborhood traffic management, traffic safety and other transportation related design elements. In addition, this position represents the City with contractors, developers, consulting engineers, government boards and agencies, and the general public.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from a four-year accredited college or university with major coursework in civil or traffic/transportation engineering, or other related field; and five (5) years of progressively responsible traffic and transportation engineering experience including three (3) years of supervisory experience; or, any combination of education, training and experience which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job.
Licenses and Certifications:
Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; additional registration as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) preferred.
Valid New Hampshire Driver's License.
Additional Salary Information: Starting salary range is $68,702.40 to $81,660.80; but is negotiable DOE
