Position Summary Villanova University's Civil and Environmental Engineering Department seeks applications for a full-time non-tenure track visiting faculty position in Water Resources. This is a one-year appointment for the 2019-2020 academic year; there is the potential for the position to be renewed for a second academic year. The primary responsibilities include teaching 12 contact hours per semester, with typically two to three preparations. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate water resources and general civil engineering courses, particularly in fluid mechanics, fluid mechanics laboratory, hydraulics, hydrology, and water resource system design.
The Department is recognized as a national leader in providing a distinctive broad-based civil engineering education, grounded in Augustinian Catholic values, and a commitment to service. The Department has 14 full-time tenure track faculty members, 4 full-time teaching faculty, approximately 220 undergraduate (freshman through senior) and 150 graduate students, and offers B.S. and M.S. (Civil Engineering and Environmental/Water Resources) degrees. A Ph.D. program is offered by the College of Engineering. Duties and Responsibilities Teaching undergraduate courses and labs and graduate courses.
Minimum Qualifications A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or closely aligned discipline is required (must be completed at the time of hire). The applicant must demonstrate a dedication to teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Preferred Qualifications A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering is strongly preferred. Previous teaching experience preferred.
