We are looking for a skilled and steady senior associate, with at least fifteen years of experience to help lead our Portland team.
Qualified applicants are energetic, creative professionals who have:
• Experience providing communication strategy and project management services in the public involvement and outreach field; facilitation experience in this field preferred • Experience leading groups of elected officials, technical experts, and/or community representatives; developing and executing decision-making processes; and helping groups reach agreement • Consulting experience in the field of transportation, affordable housing and land use planning • Experience leading outreach processes that meaningfully involve stakeholders of diverse backgrounds in decision making and advance equitable outcomes • Project management experience, including developing and managing budgets aligned with appropriate scopes of work • Demonstrated ability to build, lead and mentor project teams to deliver in a fast-paced environment, while providing for individual professional development outcomes • The ability to understand and explain technical and environmental information to a variety of audiences, often in high-profile situations • Proven ability to manage and maintain client relationships to build trust, rapport and provide expert advice in autonomous setting and in alignment with best practice outreach principles • Experience nurturing client relationships to achieve new and sustained business development goals • Superior oral and written communications skills including writing for the web, social media, fact sheets, key messages and talking points • Exceptional multi-task management and organizational skills, including developing and implementing work plans for clients • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) • A commitment to equity and demonstrated leadership working respectfully and professionally in diverse, multi-cultural settings • A valid driver's license is required
