Join our team and reimagine what your career can be. *This position may be located in either Englewood, CO or St. Paul, MN* Position Purpose Responsible for executing the business development strategy for the Aviation market in the following FAA regions of NW Mountain, Great Lakes and Central regions. As we grow our national presence, our long-term goal as an organization is to continue to grow our overall national presence with the support of a focus in the Aviation market. We are assembling the most effective business development team to maintain and protect relationships with the company’s key clients and successfully pursue new clients to drive revenue and profit opportunities, while achieving the highest levels of client satisfaction and value. Essential Functions - Bundle and sell KLJ’s service offerings focusing on KLJ’s Aviation markets, but will need to be able to promote the One KLJ model
- Develop a strategy for frequent contact with key clients driving value for them in those interactions and identifying growth opportunities for the company
- Define, qualify and develop strategy for pursuing leads including providing direction to Business Development Managers, evaluating leads brought forward and coordinate with the Market Directors on making the Go-No-Go decisions on whether or not to pursue business
- Once the initial connection is established with prospective clients, lead the relationship building process, articulate how the company’s services can provide value and close business opportunities
- Grow and develop the business relationship with current clients driving loyalty and additional revenue
- Utilize market data and intelligence to guide strategy for new business development activities
- Negotiate contracts with new and existing clients
- Work with the Production Director and Project Managers to maximize the Customer Experience
- Maintain accurate client and pipeline data in the company’s CRM system
- Oversee the financial aspects of the account including control of overruns on projects, billing issues
and post-close account maintenance and continuous service after close - Monitor client satisfaction metrics and work with leadership, production and project management teams to improve client satisfaction and value
- When appropriate, may be an active team member on projects handling client communications, client scope interpretation, or other elements related to delivering the best value to clients.
Responsibilities - Set up, participate in and facilitate regular meetings with clients
- Utilize effective written and oral communication to clearly articulate the services and value the company provides
- Work effectively both independently and as team member with the go-to market, production and project management teams to determine who is the best go-to market team to attend initial meetings with prospective clients.
- Close new business opportunities
- Attend industry trade shows to connect with existing and prospective clients
Qualifications - A Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, aviation management or related technical degree; applicable experience may be substituted in lieu of formal education.
10 years of experience in business development including successful track record of closing business and maintaining strong client relationships. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Professional demeanor and presence with the ability to interact with internal and external contacts at all levels
- High level of emotional intelligence to be able to read and interpret situations and adjust approach to drive business results
- Ability to develop and sustain strong professional relationships over an extended period of time by delivering value to clients, actively listening and following through on commitments
- Ability to articulate company’s services in a manner that connects with clients and provides value to them
- Understanding of client satisfaction principles and drivers
- Must be self-motivated and maintain a positive outlook
- Ability to influence others to action
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
Preferences: - Previous experience selling or maintaining accounts in a professional services firm
- Previous work experience in an engineering related environment
- Previous work experience at a commercial service airport
- AAE or CM accreditation
Hours and Travel This position requires the individual work 40+ hours per week with 20% of the time spent in the office and 80% in the field.
