The City of Everett, Washington is seeking a seeking a dynamic, experienced individual with strong leadership, budgetary and management skills for the appointive position of Public Works Director.
Under the direction of the Mayor, Chief of Staff, and/or Executive Director, provide strong leadership and management of the various programs, projects and operational processes of the Public Works Department. The programs, projects and operational processes include utility water filtration and distribution; surface water and sewer collection and treatment; roadway planning, design, construction and maintenance of bridges, streets, and traffic signals; building plan review, permitting and inspection; Capital Improvement Program and Transportation Improvement Program development; asset management; personnel management; financial management including budgeting, rates analysis and billing; customer service and public information services. Work is reviewed through annual goal achievement, benchmarking, conferences, reports and the effectiveness and efficiency of department programs, projects, activities and operational processes. Supervision is exercised over a staff of professional, technical, administrative and bargaining unit employees.
