We are seeking a Manager for a full-time position in the Reliability, System Safety and Specialty Engineering (RSSSE) discipline in Canoga Park, California.
This RSSSE position includes managing approximately 7 talented and motivated employees, providing leadership support, and being accountable for the technical engineering management of space and defense programs that require the design, development, verification, qualification, and production of liquid rocket engines, solid rocket motors, in-space thrusters, divert and attitude control systems, missiles, and other technologies. Typical duties:
Develop and implement RSSSE procedures, work instructions, guidelines, and methods. Act as a liaison between RSSSE and programs, other engineering disciplines, and other organizations.
Provide leadership for the design, development and implementation of product and process improvement and affordability activities. Routine reporting and communication with RSSSE director and peer RSSSE engineering managers is also expected.
Perform functional management responsibilities, including program staffing, employee skill and career development, performance evaluations, salary planning, work prioritization and technical oversight of employee work products.
Provide leadership and direct technical support of AR products and services for both development and operational / production programs.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related discipline and a minimum of 9 years progressive experience. Master’s degree desired. Strong technical and team-working skills required. Previous lead engineer or management experience is a plus. Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are essential.
The candidate should have demonstrated skills in Reliability Engineering and System Safety Engineering. Experience with Testability and Mass Properties is a plus.
US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required). Must also be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information, and having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.
