The City's Traffic Engineer provides management and leadership for the Traffic Engineering division staff in the execution & completion of the duties & responsibilities of the division. Performs professional level traffic engineering duties including planning, designing, and managing of the traffic control systems, signage & striping programs, parking controls, and neighborhood traffic calming efforts. Coordinates with the City's Transportation Advisory Committee. Conducts & evaluates traffic studies & completes analysis; recommends solutions & implements, as necessary. Oversees the operations of computerized traffic signal systems. Manages traffic-related projects from inception to completion.
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical or equivalent engineering curriculum. Master’s Degree preferable.
7 years of traffic engineering experience, preferably in the public sector; 5 year of supervisory experience.
PE license preferable; valid Colorado driver’s license and a clear or acceptable MVR
