In 2014, Chart completed its expansion of their brazed aluminium heat exchanger (BAHX) in the La Crosse facility. The Plant Manager must possess a firm commitment to enhancing the Company's Safety Culture, providing leadership in setting and maintaining a Safety-First mindset in every aspect of the management of the plant. The successful candidate will also provide dynamic leadership in their management of all manufacturing, scheduling and supply chain within the La Crosse Facility. This individual will be skilled in creating a climate where the associates want to do their best. A collaborative leader, the new Plant Manager will effectively push themselves and others to achieve maximum results while maintaining a positive work environment. Reporting to the Vice President and General Manager of the BAXH Division, the Plant Manager will actively participate as a member of the executive team to develop the strategic direction for the La Crosse facility.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Share a trusting relationship with workgroup and recruit, manage and develop plant staff. Act as liaison between Management and Supervisory levels and provide up-to- date communications, decisions and policies.
Establish an effective communications and employee relations platform that will foster understanding and alignment of the workforce with the company's business objectives and the achievement of required results.
Allocate resources effectively, and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results. By utilizing motivation techniques, delegate appropriate authority and responsibilities to subordinate Mangers, Staff Personnel, Line Supervisors, etc. Coordinate and expedite activities in the various production departments. Delegate optimization projects to Managerial and Staff Personnel for research and evaluation of adaptability, economic feasibility and extent of procedural change.
Provide direct leadership of the continuous improvement vision. Plan, organize, direct and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed customers’ expectations. Implement operations strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus to all personnel.
Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions, maintaining close surveillance over operations through perusal of reports, staff meetings, observation and personal contact to assure coordination and integration of work flow, timely production, budgetary conformance, schedules, and utilization of personnel, skills, machines, equipment and facilities.
Ensure appropriateness and effectiveness of the Quality Policy and System and take required measures.
