Description
Position OverviewWe are looking for a skilled Component Finisher & Painter to prepare, finish, and paint parts to meet strict quality and cosmetic standards. This role plays a key part in delivering visually flawless and performance-ready components.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces through sanding, filling, trimming, and polishing
- Apply primers, paints, clear coats, and specialty finishes to parts
- Operate spray guns, sanding tools, and finishing equipment according to specifications
- Inspect finished components for defects, consistency, and quality standards
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, including spray booths
- Follow all safety protocols related to chemicals, PPE, and ventilation systems
- Accurately document work performed and materials used
- Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet customer requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1-3 years of experience in painting, finishing, or composites manufacturing preferred
- Experience with spray painting (automotive, industrial, or aerospace) is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality finishes
- Ability to follow technical instructions and work independently
- Familiarity with surface preparation techniques and coating processes
- Submission to a criminal background check
Preferred Skills
- Experience with composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass)
- Knowledge of automotive or aerospace-grade paint systems
- Ability to color match and blend finishes
- Familiarity with polishing and buffing techniques
- Understanding of OSHA safety standards for coatings and chemicals
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working with respirators and protective equipment
- Manual dexterity and steady hand control for detailed finishing work
