The City of El Cajon is currently searching for a highly skilled and experienced individual to direct and oversee the planning and organizing of the Public Works Department. The Department consists of seven divisions and programs that include Engineering, Maintenance Operations, Parks, Recycling, Sewer/Waste Water, Storm Water, and Traffic. The ideal candidate should have the ability to build meaningful relationships across city government, the community and community partners, neighborhood associations, and with employees.
At least five years of experience managing public works projects which included supervising construction, maintenance, professional, technical and administrative staff. The equivalent to at least a Bachelor's Degree with a major in civil engineering. Graduate study in civil engineering or public administration is desirable.
Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in California is required. Possession of a Licensed Land Surveyor Certificate is desirable.
Additional Salary Information: Pay includes 5% incentive for Masters Degree
