This position will design and implement Supplier Quality strategies necessary to ensure that UASC’s supply chain meets all regulatory, customer and business requirements. It will assure compliance of supplier’s manufacturing processes during the development of new products, current production and returns from the field. This position is also responsible for managing all the needed steps to obtain customer satisfaction with the purchased parts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide meaningful monthly supplier performance reports to all suppliers and ensure that these reports are effective in improving the UASC supply chain.
Implement and monitor advanced quality planning with existing and selected future product suppliers
Assure supplier understanding of product and submission requirements
Review supplier manufacturing processes and quality systems
Implement and monitor the part qualification certification process with selected suppliers
Function as liaison between purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve supplier quality issues and to provide technical support
Determine cause of supplier quality problems and coordinate/implement effective and timely resolutions
Improve quality performance of suppliers by conducting workshops at supplier locations, providing technical assistance in developing a quality system, or other technical support as required
Maintain required documentation and files and provide appropriate quality metrics for management reviews
Determine part critical characteristics and required process controls
May participate as member or resource to product development teams
