Job Description
These positions are pre-identified for deployment overseas in support of contingency operations. The permanent duty location is at one of the citites listed below, but as required, employees will also deploy overseas to support the Corps of Engineers' engineering mission in Iraq, Afghanistan or other countries. Deployment assignments could be 6-12 months at a time. Substantial pay increases and bonuses are paid while deployed overseas; generally representing a 70% or greater increase in pay. Employees must be physically fit and be able to obtain a security clearance. Various types of engineering positions are available to include General, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, and Safety Engineers and Architects. Positions are generally project/construction engineers or project managers, but other types are also available. These positions are part of the Great Lakes and Ohio River Division of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where challenging and rewarding job assignments and cutting edge technology are available. Requirements
U.S. citizenship required for these Federal civil service positions 4-year professional engineering degree is required; graduate degree and P.E. not required but are a plus. Must be willing to relocate to one of the 9 cities listed and must be able and willing to deploy overseas for temporary assignments.
