Job Description
The Norfolk, Virginia office of Parsons Brinckerhoff has an immediate opening for a Bridge Engineer with 10 or more years of experience. Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) is a proven world leader in transportation engineering and consistently provides quality services in planning, design, construction management, and program management for a multitude of clients across the globe. The individual must be an enthusiastic and motivated candidate who will be responsible for the structural analysis and design of a variety of structure types, the majority of which would be related to highway bridges. The selected candidate will primarily be responsible for the following duties:

• Leading final design efforts related to bridge projects • Perform structural analysis and design of bridge structures; • Providing close coordination with others on projects; • Responsible for plan production and coordination with other disciplines; • Provide quality reviews for various projects PB has offices located around the world and promotes work-sharing opportunities regionally, nationally, and internationally which is supported by an exceptionally advanced technology and IT group to promote work-sharing opportunities on exciting projects without requiring extensive travel.


Requirements
Requirements of Candidate include:

• Professional Engineer’s (PE) license required as well as ability to obtain in Virginia within the first year • Minimum 10 years experience in bridge engineering. • Strong technical skills in structural analysis and design of various types of bridge structures. • Be familiar with AASHTO LRFD design criteria; • Have a strong background in design of bridges for DOTs and municipalities; • Good verbal and written communication skills required. • Accustomed to working in a team environment on challenging projects. • Master of Science in Civil Engineering is a plus. • Ability to immediately work in this country required
