Job Description
The successful candidate will have a record of research in the area of aeroacoustics and will be expected to develop their own research in this field commensurate with the Department's international reputation and top-rank research rating. Teaching responsibilities will include contributing to the teaching of acoustics and fluid mechanics in the engineering undergraduate course, graduate teaching, and supervising research students.

The successful candidate will take up the appointment on 1 March 2010 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointment will be for a probationary period of five years and, subject to satisfactory performance, with appointment to the retiring age thereafter. The current pensionable scale of stipends is in the range of £36,532 - £46,278 per annum.

The interviewing panel will meet soon after the closing date and agree a procedure for short-listing candidates who will be invited to visit the department, give a short technical lecture and attend a formal interview. This may include soliciting references before a final short-list is agreed. It is anticipated that the selection process will take place in January 2010.
