Design Engineer: A Ph.D in physics or engineering is preferred, however, exceptional candidates with an M.S. degree will be considered. This position requires a strong theoretical background in the physics of charged particle motion and electromagnetics, as well as knowledge of hardware, test equipment and experimental techniques. Knowledge of thermomechanical principles and analysis is also desirable. A background in plasma physics will be viewed positively, and the successful candidate will have good analytical and computational skills.
Project Engineer: A B.S. or M.S. degree in physics or engineering is required. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical direction for, and oversight of, helix TWT production programs. The individual should have, or be prepared to acquire, a detailed knowledge of tube design, fabrication, assembly and test, as well as the ability to analyze test results and implement corrective action. Experience with electron optics, electromagnetic field solvers and device interaction codes, is preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude and good problem solving skills are required, and the ability to plan and execute tasks individually, or within an integrated product team, is necessary.
